Obituary

FRAMINGHAM - Joan M. (McLean) Zanchi, 79, a lifelong resident of Framingham, passed away peacefully Wednesday June 26, 2019. She was the wife of Louis J. Zanchi of Framingham with whom she shared 37 years of marriage. Born in Framingham, the daughter of the late Austin K. and Sadie McLean, she was a graduate of Framingham High with the class of 1957 and was employed by the Town of Framingham School Department as an assistant accountant until retiring in 1990. Joan was an artist, and enjoyed drawing, but her passion was animals, she loved them and they loved her. A longtime active member of the Hartford Street Presbyterian Church, she was very involved in A Place To Turn Food Pantry.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son: David J. Zanchi of Las Vegas; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons: Louis W. Zanchi and Richard L. Zanchi both of whom died in 2017 and Michael J. Zanchi who died in 2014, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

A time of visiting will be held Tuesday July 2nd from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Ave., Framingham. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Markman officiating. Interment will follow at Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham Centre. The family requests flowers be omitted, instead, a donation to "A Place To Turn Food Pantry", 99 Hartford St., Natick, MA. 01760 in Joan's name would be appreciated. To the family and friends of Joan Zanchi,
I am very sorry for your loss.
Learning that the God of the Bible promises relief from the pain of death and a fix for those who have already succumbed,
keeps my heart and mind open and renewed to what will come.
May you find comfort in the Bible’s hope that one day we will see our lost loved ones again.
Jesus showed how this promise is sure when he resurrected Lazarus John 11:1-44.
Such bible truths provide us with hope and comfort as we look forward to the day when death will no longer be and those who have sadly lost their lives will be awakened onto a Paradisiac Earth, to a life free of sickness, pain, sorrow and the worries of ever dying again.
This being the Creator’s original purpose, it will indeed be fulfilled.
Though this wonderful Promise from the One who can and will fulfill it doesn’t take away the pain and grief of death, my wish is that it brings you peace and a future hope during this sad time.
Genesis 2:7, 8, 15; Isaiah 55:11; Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:3, 4;
John 6:40; 1 Corinthians 15:25, 26 🙏🏼

So sorry to hear of Joan's death. Another cousin gone on, to meet her step mother Elsie and sister Patricia, brothers Lloyd, Sherwood and Judson. A fine family, now all passed away.

I've been blessed to have been the neighbors of both Joan and Louie Zanchi. They've became bonus grandparents to my six year old daughter Anissa. Joan will be deeply missed. God bless 🙏 Rest in paradise.

Joan was the youngest or you might say the baby in the family she was well protected by her older brothers Judd , Sherwood and Lloyd Mclean. Joan was very close to her only sister Pat who looked after her baby sister when there mother Sadie passed away. Joan was a strong caring soul and a home body remaining in the family home caring for her father Austin and stepmother Elsie Mclean. Joans kind and Spirited heart will missed as she is reunited with her family in the arms of our lord.
