SSGT. Warren R. Fogarty, USAF, Ret.
Warren R. Fogarty of Ashland and former long-time resident of Acton passed away at 87 on May 9, 2018.
Warren served 20 years as an Air Policeman with the Air Force before retiring at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He proudly served in the Strategic Air Command at SAC Headquarters for 8 years, was an atomic veteran and also served in Iceland and Germany. After retiring he started a second career with MCI Concord where he worked as a Corrections Officer and Industrial Instructor. He often joked that he was “doing time” at the “crossbar motel." After retiring from paid work he took on his all-time favorite job as “Papa” and worked tirelessly at spoiling his two grandchildren.
He was married to the love of his life, the late Ethel “Sue” Fogarty for 58 years and was father of the late Kathleen M. Fogarty. He is survived by his son William J. Fogarty of California and his daughter Ann Lisa Fogarty and her long-time companion Michael Stolicny of Ashland and also two grandchildren Neil and Hillary Waite of Ashland.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, May 16th from 5:00-8:00pm at Boyle Funeral Home, 173 Union Avenue, Framingham.
Private interment services will be at V.A. National Cemetery of Massachusetts, Bourne, at a later date.
