Muguette (LeBlanc) Rocha
FRAMINGHAM: Muguette (LeBlanc) Rocha, 82, of Framingham, a citizen of Canada and permanent resident of the US, died peacefully in the presence of family on Friday April 27, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Paul Rocha with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Aime and Doris (Bouche) LeBlanc and brother to Claude LeBlanc. After graduating from Cap De Madeline school in Quebec, she moved to New Bedford, MA and married Paul Rocha in 1954. They moved to Framingham MA in 1957 where they resided for 60 years. She worked as an administrative assistant while raising her children, taking classes at night at Harvard and later earning a business degree from Bentley University. She worked for various companies before starting her own Accounting and Notary business. She was an early champion of women's rights in the workplace advocating fair opportunities for career advancement. She was a long term member of Zonta International and the Boston Women's City Club. Through the rush of the busiest accounting period of the year, she always volunteered time and services to help other women complete their tax requirements. For many years she hosted exchange students from several countries and in later years she and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the world.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Mark S. Rocha & his wife Kathy F. of Woodstock, CT., and Deborah L. Marston & her partner Gary Gill of Worcester, MA; three grandchildren: Christopher M. Marston & his wife Teona, Scott D. Marston and Darrell F. Rocha; one cherished great grandson: Tanner P. Marston and numerous nieces and nephews in the US and Canada.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Bridget's Church, 830 Worcester Rd., (Rte. 9 Eastbound) Framingham with a gathering to follow. There are no funeral home visiting hours and burial will take place privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in her name to: Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA. 02215 or online at: www.dana-farber.org. Boyle Bros.
