Obituary for Robert L. Scagnelli

Robert L.   Scagnelli
SPRING HILL, FL.: Robert L. Scagnelli, 92, a resident of Spring Hill, Florida for 33 years, and a former 59 year resident of Framingham, died peacefully Sat. April 1, 2017 at the Sturgill Hospice Home in Brooksville, Florida. He was the husband of the late Viola M. (Cordella) Scagnelli with whom he shared 63 years of marriage before her death in 2012.

Born in Framingham, he was the son of Peter and Mildred (Adams) Scagnelli. After attending Framingham High School, Bob served in the U.S. Army 2nd Armored Division in WW II fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and receiving the Bronze Star. Mr. Scagnelli worked for the US Postal Service for over 30 years as a mail carrier in Framingham. Retiring in 1984, he moved with his wife to Florida. Bob enjoyed bowling, golf, playing cards and walking 3 miles a day. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Framingham and was a church usher for St. George's Church in Framingham and St. Francis Cabrini Church in Spring Hill, FL. Church and family meant everything to Bob and his family feels blessed to celebrate the life of a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his children: Robert Scagnelli and his wife Janet of Nashua, NH, Ann Marie Lucich of Spring Hill, FL and Susan Meuse and her husband Kevin of Litchfield, NH; his grandchildren: David and Michael Lucich and Melissa and Robert Scagnelli and 5 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his siblings: Francis, Edward, Paul and Henry Scagnelli.

Visiting hours are Monday April 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Ave., Framingham. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Tarcisius Church, Waverly St., (rte. 135) Framingham. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
