Richard J. "Dick" Cammarata
COCOA BEACH, FL: Richard J. "Dick" Cammarata, 79, of Cocoa Beach, Fl., and a former longtime resident of Framingham, passed away late Tuesday March 28, 2017 in Florida. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Priore) Cammarata with whom he shared nearly 56 years of marriage.
Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mildred (Damiano) Cammarata. A graduate of Framingham High School with the Class of 1957, he subsequently earned A&E (Airframe and Engine) Certification from East Coast Aerotech. He had a 25 year career as an insurance appraiser/adjuster. Dick retired and moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida. He was an active and beloved community member of the Citizen's Observer Patrol (COP) of the Cocoa Beach Police Department as well as "Wednesday Warriors" Golf Club and the Framingham Columbus Club where he will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Richard Jr. and his wife Bridget (Keefe) Cammarata , a daughter: Sheryl, grandson: Richard III and three granddaughters: Angela Cammarata, Madeline and Danielle Silverstein.
Visiting hours are Monday April 3 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Ave., Framingham. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday April 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George's Church, 74 School St., Framingham (Saxonville). Burial in St. Stephen's Cemetery will be held at a later date.
