Life Story for Arnaldo J. "Marty" Martinelli
TAMARAC, FL: Arnaldo J. "Marty" Martinelli, 90, of Tamarac, Fl., a former longtime resident of Framingham and Natick, died peacefully Thursday, July 31, 2014 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia F. (Boyle) Martinelli, who died in 1999.
Born in Natick, he was a son of the late Aldo and Maria (Delpivo) Martinelli. A graduate of Natick High School, Mr. Martinelli owned and operated his own taxi service in Framingham for several years before working for the Town of Framingham School Department from 1965 to 1987. Along with his brother Gene, he was part of the Martinelli Bros. Band, a house band for the former Union House restaurant. An accomplished accordion player, Mr. Martinelli and the band played for many local functions, especially weddings.
He is survived by his daughters: Sandra LaPointe and husband George of Ashland, Karen Perodeau and husband Jack of Natick and Nancy Martinelli-Way and husband Andrew of Framingham. 5 grandchildren, 8 great- grandchildren; a sister: Virginia Bardellini of Natick and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gene Martinelli and Alda Balzarini.
Visiting hours are Thursday, August 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Ave., Framingham. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday August 8 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, 221 Concord St., (Rte. 126) Framingham. Burial will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery, Fenwick St., Framingham. The family suggests memorial donations be made in his name to The Framingham Heart Study, 73 Mt. Wayte Ave., Suite 2, Framingham, MA. 01702.
